Earning Cruise Day Credits

Earning credits is equally easy, as you accrue them for each day sailed and each onboard purchase. Simply enjoy your vacation as you normally would, and the credits will be added to your total. Bonus Cruise Day Credits

While you will only earn one Cruise Day credit toward the Holland America loyalty program for each day sailed, there are ways to pick up additional credits during your cruise. The first way is by booking spacious suites or penthouses at published rates. Doing so will earn you double credits for the duration of your cruise. If you don’t want to stay in one of these high-end accommodations, you can also earn double credits with your onboard spending. You will earn an additional Cruise Day credit for each day that you pass $300 in onboard spending. Mariner Society Reward Level 1

As stated earlier, you will automatically be entered into the Holland America loyalty program with your first cruise. This will earn you up to $400 onboard spending money per stateroom for cruises booked within 90 days of a new season launch, 15% discount at shophollandamerica.com, and a 50% discount on cruise fares for 3rd and 4th guests on select sailings. You will also be invited to a Mariner Society welcome lunch at the start of the cruise, and you will receive a collectible gift and a “Mariner Cocktail” voucher.

Mariner Society Reward Level 2

Progression to 2-Star Mariner requires 30 Cruise Day credits, and includes everything in the first tier plus a few added perks. Mariner Society Reward Level 3

Upon earning 200 Cruise Day credits, you will ascend to the penultimate tier of the Holland America loyalty program. As a 4-Star Mariner, you will unlock many of the best perks of the Mariner Society. These include complimentary laundry and pressing services, priority disembarkation and check-in, and 50% discount on specialty restaurant surcharges, wine packages, beverages in the Explorations Cafe, and mini-bar purchases. Mariner Society Reward Level 5

Only the most loyal Holland America passengers will ever get close to becoming a 5-Star Mariner, as it requires 500 Cruise Day credits to reach this tier of the Holland America loyalty program.
