Icon of the Seas will be the first ship in Royal Caribbean’s new Icon Class. It is set to debut in 2023 and will feature innovative technology, immersive experiences, and sustainable practices.
The ship will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and will have the capacity to accommodate up to 5,000 guests. It will also have a length of 1,139 feet and a width of 135 feet.
Icon of the Seas will feature the latest in technology, including virtual balconies, digital signage, and smart staterooms. Guests will also have access to a range of entertainment options, including a skydiving simulator, a bionic bar, and a 270-degree panoramic view theater.
In addition to its technological features, Icon of the Seas will also be designed with sustainability in mind. It will have a range of energy-efficient features, including an air lubrication system that reduces the ship’s resistance in the water, and a dynamic positioning system that eliminates the need for anchors, reducing the impact on the ocean floor.
Icon of the Seas is set to sail from Miami, Florida, and will visit a range of destinations in the Caribbean, including the Virgin Islands, St. Lucia, and Barbados. The ship will also visit ports in Europe and Asia.
Royal Caribbean has stated that Icon of the Seas will be a game-changer for the cruise industry, and it looks set to be one of the most technologically advanced and sustainable ships on the seas.
