MSC Seascape Cruise Ship: Overview and Things to Do

One of MSC Cruises’ newest ships, MSC Seascape is an excellent pick for cruisers interested in traveling on one of the industry’s latest, most luxurious, and most technologically advanced ships.

With plenty of room, environmentally friendly features, glamorous design touches, and more, there’s a lot to love about this cruise ship. Need to know more? Here’s everything you can expect if you book an MSC Seascape cruise.

MSC Seascape Stats

While not one of the absolute biggest cruise ships you’ll find at the moment, MSC Seascape is still pretty big. This ship measures in at:

• Length: 339 meters
• Decks: 20 total, 15 guest decks
• Passenger capacity: 5,877
• Number of cabins: 2,270
• Crew members: 1,648 

Construction and History

MSC Seascape is the second ship to be revealed as part of MSC Cruises’s Seaside EVO class. (Sister ship MSC Seashore debuted just slightly before MSC Seascape.) 

The Seaside EVO class is a new take on the original Seaside class, which launched in 2017, with MSC Seaside. The EVO class is bigger, better, and more tech-savvy than the original class.

Following her sea trials in August 2022, MSC Seascape was delivered and named in late 2022. She was constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. At one point, the ship was called the largest and most tech-savvy ship ever to be built, not just by Fincantieri, but in Italy overall. 

The ship’s maiden voyage was a repositioning voyage between the Mediterranean and New York (where the christening ceremony took place — which is fitting given the ship’s slight New York City theme, as evidenced by the Statue of Liberty replica in the ship’s casino). After that, the ship sailed from New York to the Caribbean, to begin its normal service. 

Staterooms

MSC Seascape, as mentioned, boasts 2,270 cabins, including interior, ocean view, and balcony cabins. On top of these options, there are also staterooms designed with facilities for guests with abilities or reduced mobility. So what should you expect from each?

The interior staterooms aboard this ship are further broken down into deluxe and premium interior staterooms. The premium interior staterooms are the largest, sleeping up to five individuals. The spacious premium interior stateroom layout also makes for more floor space and a large sitting area.

In comparison, deluxe interior staterooms do not come with a sitting area and sofa; instead, they’re outfitted with just a desk. Interior staterooms include amenities such as vanities, interactive TVs, minibars, in-room safes and WiFi for a fee. 

Ocean view staterooms don’t offer much floor space, with your bed, bathroom and sofa all in a row along the elongated cabin. However, they do offer natural lighting via the large, round window at the end of the room. 

Each ocean view stateroom sleeps four cruisers and the amenities are the same as they would be if you were to book an interior stateroom.

Balcony staterooms can be broken down further into deluxe balcony staterooms and balcony staterooms that specifically come with spa-related amenities.

The major difference between the two is that, with the spa-focused stateroom (called an “Aurea” cabin), you get spa-related amenities, and the decor is different. The Aurea decor features pops of an eggplant shade, while all other staterooms are fairly neutral, sleek, and modern.

Beyond that difference, in all of the balcony staterooms, you can expect a similar layout to what you might find with an ocean view room, just with a small balcony with seating on the end of the room where the window might normally be. 

Suites

There are two different kinds of suites on MSC Seascape: Aurea suites and MSC Yacht Club suites.

The Aurea suites, as already discussed, come with spa-related amenities. They also come with different decor; depending on the Aurea suite you book, that decor might be a little more outdated than what you could expect in other areas of the ship.

Aurea suites range in size and layout. Some can sleep as many as six cruisers, while others only fit two cruisers. Amenities differ, too. Some Aurea suites are outfitted with wardrobes and a hot tub on the balcony, while others offer walk-in closets and multiple bedrooms.

MSC Yacht Club

On any MSC Cruises ship, the best, most luxurious cabin or suite options are those you’ll find within MSC Yacht Club. The MSC Yacht Club is like the exclusive VIP area of each MSC Cruises ship.

There, cruisers get bigger, better, more luxurious accommodations and enjoy expanded amenities and access to Yacht Club guest-only areas of the ship.

MSC Yacht Club suites range from interior suites to an owner’s suite, but all are sleek, stylish and ultra-modern. Depending on the suite you book, you might enjoy wall-to-wall windows for superior views; a hot tub; outdoor dining space; walk-in closets; or top-deck locations. 

MSC Yacht Club-exclusive amenities and services include priority access to the spa, 24/7 concierge and butler services, access to a private bar and lounge, access to a private pool, access to multiple private restaurants and more. 

Free Dining

If you’re hoping to save some of your travel budget and allocate it towards booking some of those luxe accommodations options, you can easily do so by opting to only dine at the MSC ship’s complimentary restaurants. 

You won’t be left wanting for options — that is, if you book the right stateroom. The complimentary dining options aboard MSC Seascape include…

It’s clear that if you book a standard stateroom, you’ll only have a few free dining options (and it’s worth noting that the main dining rooms all serve the same food).

So, if you crave variety while cruising, you may find the complementary restaurant selection lackluster unless you book an MSC Yacht Club suite. 

On top of the above options, you can also order select menu items via room service for free. A delivery fee, however, will take that cost up from free to minimal. That delivery fee is waived if you’re an Aurea or Yacht Club guest.

Take a Ride on the Robotron

The newest, arguably coolest feature on this ship? A feature that’s making waves in the cruising industry? The Robotron, at almost 175 feet above the seas.

This is the first robotic coaster at sea and delivers major thrills. Not for the faint of heart, the coaster dangles you over the ship’s deck and ocean, turns you upside down, and shakes you all about, as you take in views that you can’t get from any other spot on the ship.

This ship boasts more than a dozen pools and other water features. Make sure you experience them to the fullest, whether you visit the infinity pool, the infinity whirlpool that can fit up to 20 people at once, the Jungle Pool with its sliding roof, or the main Marina Pool.

MSC Seascape offers multiple entertainment venues where you can kick back and enjoy a show. The main theater is Chora Theater, with its musicals and acrobatic performances.

Le Cabaret Rouge is part bar and lounge, part entertainment space, with lots of cabaret-fitting style and the expected cabaret acts, all set over two floors of fun.

Kids Venues

MSC Seascape boasts some of the largest kids’ venues out of all MSC Cruises ships — and there’s something for just about every age group. At Baby Club Chicco, kids ages 6 months to 36 months can enjoy infant-appropriate toys and other features.

The Mini Club is for those ages 3 to 6 years, and this space is likewise packed with toys and activities. The same goes for The Junior Club, for ages 7 to 11 years.
