Cunard has revealed a captivating glimpse into its latest vessel, Queen Anne, through a stunning cutaway image that pays tribute to the timeless allure of the company’s iconic advertising posters from the 1920s.

Cunard’s 183rd Anniversary

The image has been released to coincide with Cunard’s 183rd anniversary, created by Dominik Bulka, highlighting several of Cunard’s signature venues and public spaces. These include the Grand Lobby and Golden Lion pub and brand new concepts for Queen Anne, such as the light-installation-themed Bright Lights Society show bar.

The Illustration

Keen-eyed observers will notice the captivating and whimsical portrayals that bring Cunard’s folklore to life. On deck one, you’ll see two bellhops joyfully feeding a hippo in a swimming pool, adding an element of mischief to the scene, a reference to a well-known transatlantic crossing. This extraordinary reference refers to a remarkable journey in 1963 aboard the Pavia. Onboard, a special guest, three-year-old Jimmy, the hippopotamus, received a cold shower every hour to ensure his well-being throughout the day. Jimmy’s unique adventure from Naples to Chester Zoo occurred on the deck, where an awning shielded his cage from the sun’s rays.

Other notable figures, including David Bowie, Nelson Mandela, and Sir Samuel Cunard, have also been featured in the cutaway alongside various celebrities.

Cunard is internationally acclaimed for providing its guests unparalleled comfort, style, and luxury as it sails them across the globe. Through this new artistic venture, the luxury cruise line draws inspiration from its rich history to shape the future of its next chapter.
