Book Your Next Amazing Cruise with Travel Leader, Jeffrey Cleary
High school students from Brevard County, home of Disney Cruise Line’s homeport since 1998 Port Canaveral, boarded the Disney Wish on Friday to learn more about maritime carrier opportunities in the cruise industry. The students, members of the Canaveral Port Authority Junior Ambassador Program, explored the Disney Wish and learned first-hand from crew members about maritime career opportunities with Disney Cruise Line.
Captain Minnie Mouse made a special appearance during the tour, and the students met with several Disney Cruise Line Officers in a variety of roles. This is the second year Disney Cruise Line has supported Canaveral Port Authority’s Junior Ambassador Program. It’s one of many ways Disney Cruise Line is inspiring the next generation of seafarers.
The Canaveral Port Authority Junior Ambassador Program enables students from public high schools and private high schools within Brevard County to explore career opportunities at the Port. The program also seeks to provide workforce development to Port partners and community outreach.
During the school year, students meet with Port leaders in such areas as cruise, cargo, military, environment, hospitality, commercial space flight and construction. The students’ final project will be a presentation that features what they’ve learned. Junior Ambassadors will share their presentations with the Commission and with students at their respective schools.
